Aquatherapy

Our rehab department offers a large Hudson Aquatic, Poseidon therapy pool with swim current to provide the latest in water rehabilitation options. Aquatic therapy uses the physical properties of water or the principles of relative density, buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, surface tension, viscosity and resistance to achieve its therapeutic benefits in a safe environment to assist in patient healing and exercise performance. The fastest way to recover from pain/injury is to begin the rehab process, but often, pain levels impact the ability to start. The pain commonly associated with rehab can be decreased / eliminated in water because it reduces the weight bearing on joints. The warmth of the water experienced during aquatic therapy assists in relaxing muscles and increases blood flow to injured areas and helps to increase range of motion in the patient. Aquatherapy offers:

• Orthopedic post-surgical rehabilitation
• Orthopedic injuries
• Spine conditions (strains/sprains, spinal stenosis, disc herniation)
• Athletic injuries
• Osteoarthritis
• Neurological disorders
• Obesity
